Setting up an Easy2Boot v2 Legacy+Secure-boot UEFI multiboot drive

Easy2Boot v2 can set up a two-partition USB drive which can MBRLegacy boot and SECURE UEFI boot. Sorry about the low volume!

Just copy over your Windows Install ISOs, WinPE ISOs, WinPE .wim files, Linux ISOs, etc. and boot!
On most systems UEFI64 Secure Boot will also work.
It uses the a1ive grub2 File Manager (open source) from the grub2 developer a1ive.

eBook #4 (PDF) contains more details on how to set up your USB multiboot UEFI drive, configure a theme (with the ‘Seven’ theme download), configure a startup menu and add common Linux and WinPE payloads, etc..

P.S. To restore the E2B partition after switching to a .imgPTN23 file, boot to the agFM menu and select e2bRestore E2B partitions.cfg.

  1. The info, software, and configs are absolutely incredible! I have been using this for years. Thanks. (your audio on these videos is quite low and varies continuously) you might want to consider something like a Heil PR 781 at the very least. Although for this kind of level material it deserves a Heil PR 40! Really great stuff!

  2. Where do you get xml files to run the auto install with no prompts for windows? I dont know what an xml file is or how to write one as i am not a coder. Also, imgPTN23 or imgPTN24 is there any advantge to using an iso other them if wanting to run it on both legacy systems and UEFI systems or is it better to use img files? Finally, i dont quite get the interface you get to select device and partion on my legacy windows 10 64 bit it just boots straight into the live usb, this live usb seems to take presidence over other live USBS plugged in at same time if I dont manually choice which device to boot from. Finally i get an error message often about renaming iso to .iso"something" i dunno why but raspberian works fine except persitence doesnt seem to work but absolute linux wont boot.

  3. IF I PUT LIKE 30 0DD DISTROS ON A DISK DOES MY FAT 32PARTION NEED TO BE BIGGER THAN 3GB? ALSO MY RASBERIAN ISO DOESNT BOOT RIGHT EVEN THOUGH IT WORKED WITH YUMI WHICH IS A SIMPLER TOOL. I BELIEVE THIS IS THE MORE POWERFUL TOOL BUT ITS ALSO MORE TECHNICALLY INVOLVED. FOR EXAMPLE FOR RASBERIAN EVEN THO I ONLY PUT ONE ISO ON THERE WERE 4 DIFFERENT ISO BOOT OPTIONS AND I HAD 5 FOR ABSOLUTE LINUX, ALSO FOR ABSOLUTE LINUX ON QEMU I GOT AN ERROR ABOUT CALLING IT ISODEFAULT OR SET NO SUG =1 OR ALSO IT ASKED IF I WANT TO USE ISOASK FILE EXTENESIONS. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

  4. I just downloaded version 2 but when I click make e2 drive opens a little black window and closes immediately what can I do? i use windows 10 x64 1909

  5. it's nice but I think a bit slow compared to other multiboot drive but what I like on e2b is the ability to boot legacy and uefi

  6. I appreciate these videos, but this could've easily been 25% shorter and audio volume was low and fluctuating. Also that crap at 0:18 was uncalled for and something a child would do. Great tech, bad presentation.

  7. How about utilities folder, antivirus, hirens boot, medicat. Where i have to put them? And how for ex antivirus should be, an .iso?

  8. Cool – i am not sure how the xml files work – cause i think the unattended.xml should be part of the iso and is located in WindowsPantherunattend.xml but i will give it a rry -> can you integrate a syspreped image so you have no hardware binding and preinstalled software?

  9. Thank you for the video. I didn't know how to use the grub file manager to load the iso.

One question though. If I add more iso at a later time, do I need to run the "make file contiguous" again after adding the files?

  10. I have been having trouble trying to get medicat mini windows 10 to boot from easy2boot. I don't think I need uefi for that. However it keeps complaining the ISO is non contigious. Even running the script on the usb drive does not make it contigious. The long and the short is that when you boot off the drive you can see it in the menu, but it won't boot correctly. A video on getting that to work would be great
